On a beach holiday, a normal person would generally soak in the sun most of the time and sip on a cocktail or beer. Some people may go further and get involved in some water activities like parasailing and jet skiing, but we as a couple can’t sun bathe for long and we crave for activity. We had already done our share of whale watching and water activities, so we decided to ditch the beach and hit the road to explore the Tenerife island.
So here are the top five things to do in Tenerife:
1) Drive to Masca village
Masca is a gorgeous little village, situated in Teno mountains. The drive to this village can be quite tricky as the roads are steep and have hairpin bends, however the sights along the journey are beautiful. We stopped at many locations to take pictures as the views are breathtaking. The village itself is quaint and has small shops and restaurants.
The best part of the trip was the drive and then the lunch overlooking Masca village
2) Drive to El Teide
Teide is a volcano on Tenerife Island and to reach the peak, we have to drive through the Teide national park. The drive is just mind blowing. On this drive, the roads are far better than the roads to Masca, so we enjoyed it more as we were able to soak in all the views around us without worrying much.
On reaching Teide, we took a cable car to reach the peak. Believe it or not, on the peak of the mountain, it was snowing. It was just a beautiful and surreal experience and we highly recommend it to everyone who goes to Tenerife.
3) Los Gigantes
Los Gigantes is known for it’s stunning black volcanic cliffs. If you are interested in dolphin watching or any other sea activity, this is the perfect place to do it. View of the cliffs is perfect from the sea and can be expereinced in their full glory. This place is also surrounded by small restaurants and shops. It’s a perfect place to spend a day or half a day depending upon the schedule.
4) Walk from Costa Adeje to Los Cristianos
This walking path offers the most beautiful and breathtaking views. I am not lying when I say that we walked on this path atleast two times a day, It’s especially beautiful at the sunset time. Talking of sunsets brings me to point no. 5
5) Sunset in Tenerife
