Cappadocia: Staying at a cave hotel

We are finally back from our trip to Turkey and I am now going to bombard you all with my posts. It's not my fault, there is so much to show and tell about this country. It's filled with so much culture, history and wonderful food!

Last week, Wednesday, we landed in Cappadocia early in the morning. We were picked up by our hotel, based in Goreme,  from the airport. I was amazed at the beauty of this small town and even more gob smacked when I saw our hotel room. Calling it a room probably won't be fair to it, it was a suite and OMG it was inside a cave. Yes! I had seen the pictures online but actually walking into one of the cave rooms was surreal. I am so glad that we stayed at Sultan Cave Suits . Icing on the cake was that the staff were really helpful and gave us good recommendations for everything.

As it was our first day we decided to explore Goreme by walk and taste some local food.

If you ever visit Turkey, the tea is a must have. We are so addicted to it that we bought some tea back to London and bought the tea glasses too!

We were told/read online that Pottery Kebab(Testi Kebap) is a must have in Cappadocia. Basically the chicken is cooked in this pot. Then pot itself is brought to the table and it's broken to reveal the chicken. It tasted good but we both thought that it was a bit over hyped. Don't worry, we have many more suggestions for you in the upcoming posts!

Later we went to see the open air museum in Goreme, I totally recommend it! It tells you a lot about the religious history of the place and the views are just stunning.

Did you enjoy the pictures? Have you guys been to Cappadocia? What do you think about the place?

I am wearing:
