We arrived in Florence couple of days ago. Florence is known
as a city of museums, Cathedrals and delicious food. As food lovers the first
thing that we did was to grab some breakfast and “real” Italian cappuccino.
I am someone who has to visit all the main attraction in the
city, otherwise I don’t feel content. Hence we started as early as 9am from our
hotel room to the first museum in the itinerary.
It is called Accademia Gallery which houses lots of
sculptures and paintings from the likes of Michelangelo and Botticelli, which
includes world famous statue of David.
From there we headed to San Marco church and museum which
has paintings from 16th and 17th centuries. I enjoyed all
the painting and art work by different artists, which was also helpful in
understanding about the history. However I have to say that by the end we were
tired and extremely hungry which resulted in some food coma.
After lunch we gained some energy along with the enthusiasm
to see more places so we went to Medici Chapel and then to Basilica de San
Lorenzo. They also contain 15th-17th century art work.
I am a lover of art
but it was an over dose of paintings, art and sculptures however I am satisfied
that I got to visit the world famous place with the greatest concentration of
the art in the world.
